The Company Director started as a 17 year old sheet metal apprentice in 1990 manufacturing ventilation duct for a medium sized business in Birmingham. Progressing by the age of 21 to work for a kitchen ventilation manufacturer. Specialists in stainless steel fabrications such as canopies, tabling, hot cupboards and ducting all made by hand. He gradually progressed to the installation of the ventilation systems so he could manufacture the complete process from the production to full installation on site.

By the age of 24 he had grown in stature within the company and was now designing, measuring, manufacturing and installing commercial kitchen ventilation systems for clients around the UK. Having a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process and now experience in delivering the full service with clients the time felt right to develop and branch out to exploring his own business opportunities.

His aim and ambitions for his company were to become a ‘one stop shop’ for clients with his USP being the fact he was able to deliver the full process and products for his clients with the experience he had now gained in the various areas of manufacture. In 2000 he launched his company as it is known today. This came to fruition after several years of hard work late into the evenings, renting equipment and manufacturing space. Saving hard to then be in a position to buy his own equipment and business premises.

The company has evolved to become a family run business who pride themselves on offering a great friendly service with full aftercare guarantees at competitive prices. The reputation of the company has gradually built up nationally with some leading clients utilising their services such as Papa Johns, Domino’s, KFC, Cosmo Restaurants and many more.

The Springfield Group

Who We Are

We’re a  medium sized family run business based in Birmingham, UK. We have on-site manufacturing and distribution facilities at our head office located near the M6 and M42 motorways; strategically placed to serve our nationwide customers from this central location. Services are offered to the UK and on the continent.

We have a team of factory based engineers and mobile task force to install all of our manufactured products and ventilation systems. All of our engineers carry the company uniform including identification badges for security purposes. Vehicles are fully equipped with all of the tools required to complete your project to the highest possible standard. Our team are trained in first aid and all the necessary qualifications backing this up with our construction line and Safe Contractor accreditation.

All of our products are sourced for their performance, quality and cost effectiveness giving us a quick turnaround on delivery for breakdowns and retail sales.

We pride ourselves on working closely with local manufacturers and contractors to deliver a friendly yet professional service. All of this maintains our reputation of providing quality, performance and cost-effectiveness.

Louise is the company accounts Manger based at our head office in Birmingham. She has worked for the company for the past 10 years gaining vast experience & knowledge in the finance sector & HR departments.

Richard Gatehouse

Company Director
Richard will visit most sites, design and quote for the project in hand whilst overseeing the operation of all aspects of our business from start to finish and constantly looking to improve every detail of the company.

Paul Smith

Site Manager
Paul started with the company 6 years ago and has taken to the role with ease, making sure we have quality control on all site installations, leading and overseeing the whole of the installation programme.

Dave Davies

Design / Specification
Dave has worked with the company for 15 years, he was director of his own fan company beforehand so has expert knowledge in this field, Dave also visits sites, designs and arranges items for site installation.

What We Do

We are manufacturers and suppliers of commercial kitchen ventilation systems and high-quality stainless-steel fabrications and equipment. Our experience over the years has led us to build key client relationships in the following market places; hospitality, catering, pubs, bars, restaurants, fast food outlets, leisure, retail, health and nursing homes, education sector and catering facilities. We are specialists in kitchen ventilation systems and provide a start to end service from survey, design through to manufacture and installation. All projects are guaranteed with optional full after care / maintenance service provided.

We also have partners in electrical design and installation, plumbing and gas installation for commercial works and can even provide a full shop fitting service if you are looking for that all in one service which is fully guaranteed.

We have completed projects in all genre of outlets such as Chinese, Indian, Mexican and English. We are used to liaising and complying with different authorities and councils to achieve both ours and the client’s goals. We are fully conversant with problems that may arise from different types of cooking, odour and noise.
